Troubleshooting Plugin Conflicts

When a plugin or theme isn’t working as expected, it’s good to know how to troubleshoot the issue and solve it on your own or provide helpful information to anyone trying to help you.

You should first make sure you’re running the latest version of your installed plugins, themes, and WordPress.

If that doesn’t help, run through the list of tips for troubleshooting plugins in the Codex.

Next, you can try to identify which plugin is causing the problem by following these steps:

  1. Disable all plugins except for the one you’re having trouble with
  2. Check to see if the issue still exists
  3. If not, activate one plugin at a time until the issue reappears

When the issue reappears, that usually indicates there’s a conflict with the last plugin activated.
